Thirsty Thursday: Bad Tattoo Brewing

Have you ever had a brewery that you kept your eyes on for ages, and you were almost giddy when you finally got to roll in and experience it firsthand? Yup, pretty much how I felt when we finally rolled into Penticton to experience Canada's Craft Beer Capital!

We visited Bad Tattoo Brewing in Penticton

You may recall we started our winter road trip in Nelson, before making the drive into Penticton. After spending some time at the legendary Cannery, we wandered down to take in the much anticipated Bad Tattoo Brewing.

Needless to say, we enjoyed our visit. So much, I didn't take any photos. I know, who am I?! I do remember their Peanut Butter Porter & Chocolate, cause I'm not a savage...and yeah, if you're a Reese's fan and beer junky, y'all probably wanna give it a go.

So imagine my delight when our friends at Blind Bay Village Grocer brought in the Bad Tattoo variety 8-pack. And delight quickly turned into sheer enthusiasm and giddiness when I saw the 8-pack was playing host to my favourite, their Juice Bomb New England IPA.

Just like the name implies, this bad boy is JUICY! This fresh IPA pours hazy: it's double dry-hopped with Galaxy and Azacca. I find the bitter profile to be low, and it to be jam-packed with fruity juiciness. Did I say juicy? Yea. Juice bomb. A bomb of juice.

Also in this variety pack?

Los Muertos Cerveza Negra

The Los Muertos Cerveza Negra. They've got this one categorized on Beer Advocate as a German Bock. I'm not sure what I'd call it, but I'm not confident what it should be called - and it looks like I'm not the only one. Anywho, this beer has won multiple awards, and I love drinking it in the summer. So with the weather turning, this variety pack just keeps getting better. It's kinda Corona-y...but not skunky, a bit darker and way better in my humble opinion. Built for the days when a Corona just ain't enough.

And no matter which of the four beers you grab from this pack, take a minute to marvel over the can artwork. It's legendary.

Have you been to Bad Tattoo or snagged some of their brews at the local beer shop? Got a favourite? We'd love to hear from you!
